About This Company This is a real Limited Liability Company. It is owned and operated by me: Nathan Enns - my personal page might shake you up a bit ;-). About My Abilities I wrote my own search engine when I was 18 while I was learning to program PHP and then re-wrote it while learning the Python programming language. I have the ability to not have an ego while sounding over confident and egotistical. For example, that last sentence would lead anyone to conclude my ego is huge but I am honestly just interested in understanding everything accurately, including myself. I know HTML, XML, RSS, CSS, PHP, Python, basic Photoshop, and basic Javascript. Since I know PHP/Python and basic Javascript that means I know basic AJAX. I don't know Flash, ASP, .NET, C, C++, C#, Java, Perl and other stuff that I might not even know exists. Learning typically requires motivation ;-) The Way I Work If you want me to think for myself and tell you some of my ideas I can. If you just want to have me get your ideas done I can do that as well. I prefer a flat hourly rate but will consider equity sharing deals. I require written contracts to be signed. This shouldn't hurt your feelings even though it seems to hurt over 50% of the people I speak with. I still haven't figured out the definition for "trust" because the only way I can see to trust 100% is to know 100% about someone. Strange, people don't like telling me that much nor do they seem to know themselves that much. There is a difference between professional and personal conversation. I do professional conversation well but will be kind of awkwardly silent if the conversation starts sounding like we are old buddies from jr. high school. The reason is that the situation started off professional. If you want to hire me to be friends I can do that, just make sure I know ;-) I don't really do well on the phone because I need to follow a lot of instructions to get the site done. If we do it on the phone I won't have any written instructions to go off of unless I take notes. Taking notes slows down the conversation and prevents me (and everyone else, even if they don't realize it) from absorbing as much of the meaning. So I have a fairly strict email policy. Not to mention no one (including me) ever knows what my schedule will be. Portfolio I do have clients, told you my abilities and showed you my other company. The portfolio doesn't get to be shown because I am not always the only person working on a project and have no way to clearly show you what sections I have done. Also, hiring someone off of their portfolio will probably just waste your time. After all people do lie (just watch the TV show House). It would be stupid for me to get into a contract with you without knowing how to do the job. If you and I have a contract and I can't do what I claim then you won't be out a penny. The people that are lying about their portfolio are probably also the people who don't like contracts. Don't I Want Clients? Why Do I Sound So Blunt? Because it doesn't make any sense for me to try to get a ton of clients by writing the exact same way as every other web designer. Why? Because when we start working together I might turn into a real person, so it would just be better if we know up front if we will get along. Besides, who couldn't love me after reading all this :-) I am also not desperately greedy enough to jump on any job available without thinking until I have so many clients and so little time that nothing gets done. Will Our Conversations Sound Like This Website? Probably not. I wrote this site with a lot of different people's psychological profiles in mind. When I speak one on one then I can actually speak as though I having a conversation with someone instead of just blathering on and on and on and on on my web design website. What Do I Do? I research stuff (I do own a search engine). I like learning/talking/thinking about psychology, programming, the legal system, sociology, vehicles, history, mythology, religion, theology, the dead sea scrolls, consciousness, politics, quantum physics, space, etc. So if you dont want to hire me but do have similar interests feel free to shoot me an email anyway.
